QUALITY ASSURANCE
All areas of company activity are regularly audited by in-house QA engineers, clients and external auditing companies.
QUALITY
WITHOUT COMPROMISE
WITHOUT COMPROMISE
The commitment made in our objectives "quality without compromise" is not a hollow statement. A steady and consistent interpretation of contract and engineering requirements is performed by both external and internal quality assurance personnel. In order to ensure conformity to our quality assurance policy, all bespoke fabrication contracts require structuring and detailed planning at the earliest stages by both in-house management and outside suppliers.
All areas of company activity are regularly audited by in-house quality management to ensure full compliance with the company's Quality Assurance Manual and ensure our pressure vessels and heat exchangers meeting the same high standards, everytime. As a benchmark for the company's quality procedures, Portobello-RMF's procedures meet or exceed the following certification requirements which are fully audited and certified:

- ISO3834 Part 2 - Certified by Lloyd's Register - Holbrook→

Testing Procedures
With safety as a total and unspoken requirement of everything mechanically designed by Portobello-RMF, product testing is of supreme importance, but testing at all stages of construction is also fundamental to the engineering ethos of the company and an integral requirement of the many codes of practice and standards adopted by Portobello-RMF.
Once again, the diversity of products and materials makes the list of options almost endless, but the following illustrates the testing procedure and where appropriate, the equipment:
- Hydrostatic testing
- Pneumatic testing - low and high pressure
- Radiographic testing both X-Ray & Gamma
- Magnetic particle inspection
- Ultrasonic test
- Leak detection e.g. Helium Leak Test
- Paint thickness
- Spark Testing
- Dye penetrant testing
- Ferrite detection
- Tensile testing
- Impact testing
- Chemical analysis
